The new ambassador will take office in the summer of 2026.

On November 23, 2025, the Israeli government unanimously approved the appointment of ten new ambassadors and consuls, among whom Roi Rosenblit was appointed as the Israeli ambassador to Ukraine. This appointment was part of a large-scale diplomatic rotation proposed by Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.

.......

Rosenblit will replace Michael Brodsky, who has held the position of ambassador to Ukraine since August 2021. Brodsky’s term is coming to an end, and he will receive a new appointment.

Roi Rosenblit: Experience and Career

Roi Rosenblit was born in Kibbutz Ginegar, then the family moved to the settlement of Har Gilo, located near Jerusalem.

He graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a degree in “linguistics, Arabic language and literature,” as well as in “public policy.” After serving in the IDF in 1994, Rosenblit entered the diplomatic training course at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his career, Rosenblit worked as a researcher on issues related to Saudi Arabia, the Gulf countries, and Yemen, held positions at the Israeli embassies in Moscow and Cairo, and was the Israeli ambassador to Senegal.

Michael Brodsky: Term Coming to an End

Michael Brodsky was appointed as the Israeli ambassador to Ukraine by the government of Naftali Bennett in 2021.

During his term, Israel continued to strengthen ties with Ukraine, especially in the context of security and humanitarian aid. Brodsky will complete his work in this position in 2026 when Rosenblit officially takes office.

What Michael Brodsky Said About Roi Rosenblit

Michael Brodsky congratulated Roi Rosenblit on his appointment as the Israeli ambassador to Ukraine. He wrote:

.......

“Congratulations to my colleague Roi Rosenblit on his confirmation as the Israeli ambassador to Ukraine. Roi will take office next summer.”

This statement confirms continuity and readiness to continue the important work of strengthening relations between Israel and Ukraine.

Michael Brodsky: As the Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine

Michael Brodsky was appointed as the Israeli ambassador to Ukraine in 2021. He led Israel’s diplomatic mission in Kyiv during the onset of Putin’s Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

According to Brodsky: “We support Ukraine in various ways, mainly in terms of humanitarian aid. So I believe: Israel is an ally of Ukraine.”
He also noted: “From day one, we made a strategic decision to provide Ukraine with the maximum assistance we can afford. Without crossing ‘red lines’ and without threatening our national interests.”

Brodsky reported that Israel supplied Ukraine with hundreds of tons of humanitarian aid — medicines, food, generators, and water desalination units. For example, a field hospital in the Lviv region served about 6,000 people — both refugees and locals.
He also said: “As part of Israel’s current humanitarian aid to Ukraine, more than one million sets of water and food were delivered to the eastern regions of the country affected by the war.”

Brodsky was awarded the title “Person of the Year in Ukraine” for humanitarian aid during wartime.

He stated: “When they say that Israel did not provide military assistance, it is simply not true.”
