“This is hell on earth, I lost my mother, daughter and grandson in a second. I don’t know how to live on. ”
Toy bears – large and small – lie around the grave of Adam Bugaev, as if composing a company for him.
However, one and a half year old baby is not alone here. His mother, 27-year-old Sofia Bugaev, was buried with him. Nearby, in the cloudy and windy cemetery in Zaporozhye, lies the great-grandmother Adam, 68-year-old Tatyana Tarasich.
Russia continues the war against Ukraine, destroying families, houses and fate.

“Russia came to our country with destruction, it destroyed our homes and families. We cannot let her take our freedom, ”says Julia Tarasich, Grandma Adam, Sofia’s mother, and daughter Tatyan.
Family History: How this happened
On the evening of November 7, 2024, grandmother Tatyana Tarasich shot the last minutes of her one and a half -year -old grandson of Adam on the phone. A fair-haired boy in a red jacket played on the street under the supervision of his mother, 27-year-old Sofia Bugayova.
Only an hour later, the Russian air bomb hit their house. Tatyana, Sofia and Adam died instantly. Together with them – six more civilians.
“I lost my mother, daughter and grandson in a second. This is hell on earth, ”says Sofia, Julia Tarasich.
Zaporozhye under shelling
Zaporozhye, one of the key cities in the southeast of Ukraine, remains in the zone of permanent attacks from Russia. As a result of air strikes, the number of victims among civilians continues to grow.
The graves in the city cemetery are multiplying every day. The ranks of graves with yellow-blue flags denoting the fallen Ukrainian soldiers alternate with the burials of civilians killed by Russian blows.
“We often come to the cemetery to be closer to our family. This is the only place where we can feel them nearby, ”Sofia’s father shares, Sergei Lushchay.
The life of Sofia Bugayova
Sofia, Adam’s mother, after the beginning of the full -scale invasion of Russia, left for the UK, where she worked as a translator for the Ukrainian military. But she could not stay away from her relatives and returned home.
In June 2023, Sofia gave birth to Adam and began to study psychology in order to help other Ukrainians experiencing the tragedy of war.
“Sofia always took care of people, about those who were hard. She dreamed of helping, and her life was full of light, ”her mother recalls.
The war that takes the future
The history of this family is only one of the many tragedies that occur daily in the occupied and frontline territories of Ukraine. Peaceful inhabitants, like soldiers, become victims of unreasonable aggression.

Confrontation between aggression
Ukraine is faced with serious challenges: lack of resources, pressure in the international arena and the enemy’s attempts to persuade it to surrender. However, according to the relatives of the dead, the struggle should continue.
“Russia will return if we do not defend ourselves. We cannot stop, without taking revenge on those we have lost, ”Sergey Lushchai is sure.
