The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel has issued sharp criticism of Russia after missile strike on Konstantinovka Donetsk region of Ukrainewhich resulted in the deaths of civilians.
The statement from the Ukrainian diplomatic department says that Russian forces committed another terrorist act on August 9, 2024, attacking a civilian facility – a shopping center in Kostyantynivka, which resulted in the death of 14 people and the injury of another 43.
The Ukrainian embassy particularly emphasized that the international community should not remain indifferent to such monstrous actions. The appeal calls for international solidarity in the fight against terrorism, which, according to Ukrainian diplomats, is supported by the so-called “Axis of Evil”, including Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Russia. The statement reads:
“We cannot remain silent in the face of the atrocities committed by the expanding Iran-Hezbollah-Hamas-Russia Axis of Evil. We must unite against terror!”
In this context, it is important to note that Russia's actions against civilian targets in Ukraine highlight the brutality and inhumanity of war. The strike on the shopping mall in Kostyantynivka, in which civilians died, is not only a war crime, but also a manifestation of how military actions can violate all norms of humanity.
The reaction of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel is correct and necessary. It emphasizes that the international community must actively respond to such acts of terrorist violence, regardless of who commits them. It is important that the world continues to condemn such actions and take measures to support Ukraine in its fight for justice and security.
The call for unity against the “Axis of Evil,” including Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Russia, reflects an understanding of the complex and multi-layered nature of the conflict, in which various forces intervene to support terrorist and aggressive actions. It also highlights the need for a collective response in the international arena to prevent further violence and protect civilians.
