“Russian propagandists had to change the narrative and come up with new horror stories. And what could be more frightening than the old myth about “world behind the scenes”, “global conspiracy” And “shadow government”.

That is why in the third year of the full-scale invasion and the 11th year of the war Russians have brought out their old weapon – anti-Semitism. It is interesting that, just like 130 years ago, when the Russian secret services fabricated the infamous fake “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”the point of distribution became France.”

21 August 2024 was published investigations in 24tvWhere, with links to sources (available for viewing), the whole picture of such propaganda was shown, we will highlight, in our opinion, the most interesting:

Russian propaganda has been telling its citizens for years that their army is fighting in Ukraine not with Ukrainian troops, but with European mercenaries. The media persistently frightened Russians, especially in regions such as Tula, Barnaul and Ulan-Ude, with stories about Poles, French and Romanians allegedly participating in the fighting.

.......

Particular attention was paid to the so-called Afro-Poles and Afro-Romanians, whom propaganda presented as the most militant representatives of the “aggressive NATO bloc.” However, as noted on August 21, 2024 author of the investigation in 24tvthis narrative did not work in Europe, since such mercenaries did not physically exist.

In addition, Russia itself began to attract its own “internationalists” from third world countries such as Nepal, India and Somalia to the war.

In this regard, Russian propagandists had to change their rhetoric and create new horror stories based on old myths about the “global backstage” and the “shadow government.” As 24tv emphasizes, such fakes and propaganda statements are aimed at weakening the positions of Ukraine and its allies in the international arena.

Pro-Russian agents of influence in France are actively promoting the theory that Jews are allegedly leading neo-Nazis in Ukraine in order to weaken Russia through war. The publication Nouveau Monde even calls the conflict a “Jewish war” and builds conspiracy theories around it, linking leading politicians and oligarchs with Jewish roots.

As an example, the author cites claims that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, being Jewish, is one of the key figures promoting anti-Russian policies. Propagandists claim that Zelensky was elected to the presidency thanks to the support of Jewish oligarchs such as Igor Kolomoisky, which also highlights the allegedly Jewish nature of the Ukrainian government. These claims are aimed at linking Russia’s internal problems to the influence of external forces, in this case, the Jews.

Russian propaganda pays special attention to the theory that the war in Ukraine is part of a global Jewish conspiracy. Articles distributed by pro-Russian publications claim that Jewish leaders, both in Ukraine and the United States, are actively fomenting war with Russia. In this context, special attention is given to the assertion that the “Jewish authorities” in Washington and Kyiv are deliberately fomenting conflict in order to weaken Russia and undermine its influence on the international stage.

The author also points to the use of conspiracy theories that have taken root in Russian propaganda. For example, articles in pro-Russian publications often mention the French-speaking Canadian publication Le Set du Québec, which claims that Jews and American neoconservatives allegedly control world politics. These materials also claim that the snipers on the Maidan in 2014 were allegedly from Mossad, and that the revolution itself was planned and carried out under the leadership of Jewish organizations.

The image of Israel as a key player in the “Ukrainian crisis” occupies a special place in propaganda. Russian propaganda claims that Israel actively supports the “Kiev regime” by providing military and technical assistance. As evidence, claims are made that Israeli citizens fought on the side of Ukrainian forces, for example in the Azov Battalion. Propagandists also focus on Israel's role in Syria, claiming that the country is using Russia's busyness in Ukraine to increase its influence in the Middle East.

.......

In the context of these claims, Russian propagandists also point out that Israel allegedly offered mediation in the Ukrainian conflict (Bennett), but with the aim of achieving its own goals. The authors claim that Israel's offer of mediation was rejected by Russia, since such a mediator, in the opinion of the Russian authorities, could not be impartial.

Thus, Russian propaganda not only exploits anti-Semitic sentiments, but also tries to create a global enemy image in the form of Jews, who allegedly seek to weaken Russia through the Ukrainian conflict. These theories, supported by conspiracy theories and distorted facts, are actively spread among pro-Russian audiences both inside and outside the country.
