She stressed that Joe Biden has committed not to send US troops to Ukraine, “but we support Ukraine in its efforts to regain its sovereign territory.”
In response to a clarifying question about the possibility of shooting down targets over Ukraine from Polish or Romanian territory, Singh noted that this “would mean dragging the United States into the war in another way.”
“And right now we feel that Ukraine was able to successfully defend against Russian attacks on their cities, their population, their infrastructure. And we will continue to provide them with the support they need to do this,” she added.
On October 1, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the United States cooperated with the Israel Defense Forces in repelling an Iranian missile attack.
President Zelensky has repeatedly called on partners to also help Ukraine defeat Russian targets and has stated that more determination is needed on this issue from NATO member countries.
